It's part of the American dream. Graduating and preparing to make your mark on the world, whether that looks like pursuing more education or landing your first full-time job. This year, for many young men that dream has been crushed. High school graduations have been canceled. Colleges graduations have gone online. And first jobs have turned into layoffs and furloughs. But rather than giving up hope, young men across our nation are inspiring hope. And Narrow Gate is looking for them! We want to share the good they’re doing so that it spreads, becoming more contagious than the virus we’re warring against. And while we can’t replace the rite of passage that’s been taken from them, we would like to offer them a once in a lifetime experience. We’re inviting everyone to nominate the most inspiring young men they know for an honor they’ll never forget.

Ten winning submissions will be selected by the Narrow Gate staff and students (five college graduates and five high school graduates). Each winner will be invited to attend a Make-Your-Own-Guitar six-day retreat at Narrow Gate Lodge, south of Nashville, Tennessee. The prize includes single-occupant lodging in our luxury treehouses (queen-sized beds, full private bath, coffee makers, mini-fridge, a/c) plus a 6-day workshop where each young man will craft his own world-class guitar with experienced luthiers! In addition, there will be Ultimate Frizbee games, convos around the campfire and a sampling of the Narrow Gate Lodge experience. Narrow Gate will provide up to $250 in travel vouchers to cover travel expenses. Travel dates are TBD for July or August 2020.

Nominees must be 2020 college or high school graduates. Five inspiring 2020 college graduates and five inspiring 2020 high school graduates will be chosen because they exemplify--in an extraordinary way--one or more of the core values of sponsoring organization Narrow Gate: growth, community, devotion, selflessness, excellence and/or generosity. Submissions due by 11:59pm on May 31, 2020

We want to share inspiring stories of young men so that doing good becomes more contagious than the virus we’re warring against. Winners must agree to have their story shared by Narrow Gate media for publicity purposes, including but not limited to social media, earned media and owned media.

We want to recognize the most inspiring young men in America and we’re asking everyone to help by nominating the young man who is the most extraordinary 2020 graduate they know. Anyone may submit a nomination—teachers, employers, pastors, friends or family members—and graduates may submit a nomination on behalf of themselves. Nominations may be up to 500 words in length. They should describe why the nominee is extraordinary and how he exemplifies one or more on the core values of sponsoring organization Narrow Gate: growth, community, devotion, selflessness, excellence and/or generosity.
